This is great, thanks "Big Toe" for referring me to this site, is great to read all the comments and see the familiar names. I served with some great Marines as a FAST Co PltSgt from Mar 1988 to Jan 92 under Capt Pointfield and Wick. My last tour of duty was in the Bay Area and I got an opportunity to visit Mare Island and the training/living area. As expected is all privatize now, with housing and business, but being there brought back Memories of the time and Marines I served with. Thanks for the site.

Hey everyone...I just got a letter in the mail form Eric Madson tipping me off to this site. I was stationed @ Mare Island from 1992 to when we disbanded in 1993 was it? Anyway, I was in Weapons platoon, 0351, under Ssgt. Heberline. From there I went to Pendleton, 2/9, arrived there just as they got back from a westpac that had returned from #@*%!lia, they were there about 3 weeks and were the boat unit that secured Mogadishu airport. I ended up getting out in '95 and went back home to Sacramento, CA. I moved here to the Dallas, TX. area in '04 and am still wondering what the hell took me so long to get to this wonderful state. I've been married for 9 years and have a son, Hayden, who is 6. I recently talked to Charles "Chuck" Hunt, who was @ FAST the same time I was. He was in Wpns. Plt. also as a 0331. He ran around with "T", if any of you remember him. He was killed in a car accident. I can't remember what year that was. So far he and Madson are the only ones I have talked to at all. Looks like Akers is here in N. Texas, too. Anyway, I'm glas I was told about this site. Hope to hear from anyone who remembers me...My cell is (817) 271-5375.
